Horizon successfully completes its SOC 2 Type 2 examination
22 June, Paris: Horizon Software (Horizon), the leading provider of electronic trading solutions and algorithmic technology for the global capital markets, is proud to announce that it has successfully completed its System and Organization Controls (SOC) for Services Organizations (SOC 2®) Type 2 examination as of 15 June 2021 for their Managed Services, with trusted third-party security and compliance firm, A-LIGN ASSURANCE (A-LIGN).
Horizon had already completed Type 1 examination which evaluated the design of the company’s security processes, back in December 2020, and had set a goal to complete Type 2 by June 2021, in a 6-month period, which ensures that Horizon has put in place all the required policies and procedures. Horizon ran controls in various areas of the company which included bolstering its security, performing IT penetration tests, and improving its processes and documentation controls. And after A-LIGN reviewed the design and operating effectiveness of Horizon’s controls around infrastructure, software, people, data, processes and procedures, the company successfully received its first SOC 2 Type 2 report without any noted exceptions.
The success of this examination demonstrates that Horizon Software has a high level of quality of service as it follows international standards on risk and security. Its controls are designed to provide reasonable assurance to customers and to prove its compliance with the highest standards of security.
Charles Bertrand, Chief Financial Officer at Horizon Software, said: “We are proud to have reached such a demanding international standard: an important step up achieved with our teams that demonstrates our ability to deliver reliable services within highest level of security to our clients, moreover in managed services.”
Bruno Lefebvre, Head of Data & Automation at Horizon Software, added: “We are pleased and proud to have achieved SOC 2 Type 2 examination for the benefit of our customers. This is a major milestone for Horizon, requiring significant effort across all our teams. It further demonstrates our continuous focus on security and business continuity.”
Huw Pegler, VP of EMEA and Asia Pacific at A-LIGN said: “SOC 2 is a challenging audit for many software providers. We are now seeing more organizations outside the US requiring their providers to demonstrate SOC 2 compliance, meaning that it is becoming a truly global framework. As a trusted third-party security and compliance firm, A-LIGN scrutinizes client data processes and procedures, governance on internal controls and security posture. The success of Horizon Software’s SOC 2 Type 2 examination confirms its ability to maintain a strong information security posture, and further reiterates its commitment to its customers in information security management standards to mitigate cybersecurity risks.”
