14 February 2018, Paris & Hong Kong: Horizon Software (Horizon), the world’s leading provider of electronic trading solutions and algorithmic technology, announced today that it has hired a new EMEA senior sales executive. Ex-HSBC senior manager Damien Jenner, a veteran in finance with over 15 years of working in Global Markets, joins Horizon at a time of remarkable successes in the form of recent partnerships, award wins and new clients.
Previously Head of Americas (Fixed Income IT) – Risk and P&L at HSBC in New York, Damien brings significant experience and knowledge to Horizon as the company continues to expand. Previous roles include positions at HSBC France, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Commerzbank. With his global and diverse credentials in quant analysis, financial engineering and interest rates derivatives, Damien will quickly become a valuable resource for Horizon’s clients.
Sylvain Thieullent, CEO, said: “At Horizon we pride ourselves on ensuring that we appoint only the best person for the job and Damien certainly fits that requirement. With experience working in Frankfurt, New York, Sydney, London and Paris, his wealth of knowledge will be a true asset to us and to Horizon’s growth and success going forward.”
With an MSc in Economics from University Poitiers in France and separate post-grad diplomas in Computer Programming from The University of Technology in Sydney and Mathematics from York University, Damien is extremely well-equipped to help Horizon achieve its business goals, both short- and long-term. Having started his career as a financial engineer in Global Markets with investment banks, he worked with some of the highest-level quant researchers in the industry, before delivering multiple flagship projects for Fixed Income IT as global team manager at HSBC. This all contributed to Damien’s strong background in handling front to back solutions and large-scale initiatives using cutting-edge technologies, a perfect fit with Horizon’s philosophy of providing clients with the very best in technology, functionality, and support.
Damien will be reporting to Guillaume Poitevin, Global Head of Sales and Marketing at Horizon, who commented on the new hire: “I am very much looking forward to welcoming Damien to the team and have full confidence that his international and cross-sector expertise gives him all the tools he needs to help us deliver more of the impressive development we have seen in the past few years.”
Horizon is looking to build on its impressive achievements of 2017, including signing a record number of new clients and various accolades. These included receiving the award for Best Sell-Side EMS at the Intelligent Trading Technology Awards (widely seen as the largest buy-side-led awards in Asia) and being named Multi-Asset Trading System of the Year at the Asia Capital Market Awards.
